Background:

I grew up in Washington, DC and relocated to Seattle in 2008.  I am a third-generation nurse, and have worked as an RN since 1999.  My most extensive nursing experience is in geriatric and hospice care.  In 2005 I began my training in massage therapy and shiatsu, and thereafter discovered and trained in craniosacral therapy and energetic work.  I have always taken a vocational and spiritual approach to my nursing and bodywork practice.

Currently, aside from my bodywork practice, I work part-time at a family medicine clinic that provides primary care to the area’s under-served.  Most recently before moving to Seattle, I worked as a nurse at Joseph's House, a residence for formerly homeless men and women at the end of life with AIDS or cancer.  I have a special interest in health care as a matter of social justice.

As an aside, I grew up with Ayurvedic medicine (a comprehensive and holistic system of health care from India) , thanks to my mother, a nurse practitioner, who possesses tremendous experience and talent as an Ayurvedic practitioner and teacher.  From my youngest years she has demonstrated for me the ability to integrate the gifts of both western and complimentary therapies, and to hold for patients a space of compassionate presence in the role of service.  May every day I deepen the embodiment of this example in my own life and work.
